Brief History

The Scarborough SDA Church was borne out of an evangelistic crusade by Pastor T.J. Warner in Rockley Vale, Tobago, in the year 1930 which led to the baptism of 52 members. They were received as members of the Mt. Grace S. D. A. Church but continued to worship at the tabernacle in Rockley Vale. The congregation later moved to a rented hall before entering their newly built church in Bacolet in 1932 and later back to Rockley Vale in 1974. As one of the earliest SDA churches in Tobago, it played a key role in hosting annual conventions and fostering the growth of several other churches, including Mt. Saint George, Mason Hall, Signal Hill, and Plymouth. Though the original members have passed, their legacy lives on through multiple generations who continue to uphold the church’s values and principles.
